19th Konopka Workshop on Accounting and Management Control
Burgos, 23-24 January 2014
The Workshop on Accounting and Management Control was organized for the first time in Madrid in 1991 and from 1993 it was named after former professor of Instituto de Empresa Raymond Konopka. The 19th edition will be held the 23rd and 24th of January, 2014 in Burgos, organized by the ERGO Research Group, Universidad de Burgos.
This workshop constitutes a discussion forum for researchers with an interest in the organizational and social aspects of accounting systems. A large number of researchers have widened the traditional limits of accounting to consider its impact on organizations and on society in general. This is why the workshop values the social implication of accounting as well as the interdisciplinarity of papers. Interdisciplinarity refers to strong relationships between accounting and other organisational fields (e.g. strategy, finance, marketing, HRM, CSR or R&D) as well as other fields, such as sociology, history or environmental studies.
This workshop has become a reference event to discuss high quality research papers in the wider field of accounting and management control. Papers presented at this workshop have been published in journals such as: Accounting, Organizations and Society; European Accounting Review; Organization Studies; Abacus; Accounting and Business Research; Journal of Management Accounting Research; Advances in Accounting; Management Accounting Research; Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, or Critical Perspectives on Accounting.
