  3. The candidate must have applied for admission to the Department responsible for the doctoral programme (The application will be on a standard form that is available from the Secretary's Office of the Department, and the office responsible for doctoral studies and qualifications - la Unidad de Tercer Ciclo y Títulos - and may also be downloaded from www.ubu.es/estudios).

  • Homologated qualifications
  • Standard admission form (model A1 or A2).
  • Copy of the National Identity Document, Passport or national equivalent.
  • Homologation documentation (original and photocopy for certification or certified photocopy).

If the student completes the doctoral studies, the qualification of doctor that will be issued will serve only for academic and never for professional purposes.

Neverthless, the qualification of ‘Licenciado' , ‘Architecto' or ‘Engineer' can be incorporated at any moment, even once the Doctoral qualification has been issued, in which case the doctoral degree will serve for all academic purposes and will authorize the holder to conduct teaching and research activities in accordance with established legal requirements.

Students should submit the application for file transfer/official recognition to the relevant Department  (Model E1 or Model F). The file transfer will be conditional upon authorisation from the Doctoral Committee. The Department where necessary will report on the prospects for official recognition which, to enter into force, must be approved by the Doctoral Committee. Following admission, students will have to apply for the corresponding file to be transferred from the University of origin, except for those holding the ‘Certificado de Docencia ' or the ‘Diploma de Estudios Avanzados '.
