Spanish language and culture
DESCRIPTION
Burgos is located in northern Spain. It is home to both the origins of the Spanish language and the earliest known European hominid from an evolutionary perspective. A strategic site throughout history, Burgos is a unique city for learning Spanish for many reasons:
MOBILITY & GREEN CITY
Burgos is a medium-sized city that is easy to get around, whether on foot or by bike. It is a safe city, full of green spaces, where our students enjoy a true linguistic and cultural immersion experience.
ORIGIN OF THE LANGUAGE
Burgos is recognized as the birthplace of the Spanish language, which began to take form in the monasteries of San Millán de la Cogolla (La Rioja), Santo Domingo de Silos, and Valpuesta, located in the province of Burgos.
HISTORY – HEART OF CASTILE
Founded in 884 by Count Fernán González, Burgos soon became the capital of the region of Castile. It played a key role in the history of Spain, a legacy that is still visible in every corner of the city and its surroundings.
