The person appointed will be expected to engage in socio-legal research and empirical inquiry, which complements the work being done at the centre. The postholder will also give high-quality seminars, supervision, lectures, and tutorials. There are a large number of research students in the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies and the supervision of these students will represent a significant amount of the Associate Professor's responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate and Master's degree in law and/or one of the social sciences, and a doctorate in a relevant subject or an established record of accomplishment in academic research; a record of high quality interdisciplinary research and publications in the field of socio-legal studies commensurate with career experience.
