Position Description: The Division of Politics, Philosophy and Public Affairs at the University of Washington Tacoma is hiring a temporary full-time lecturer in international law and policy for the 2019-20 academic year. This is a nine-month non-renewable position beginning mid-September 2019 that requires teaching seven courses over three quarters (with 3-4 different courses) and is contingent on funding. This is also a non-tenure track position.
The classes will be a combination of lower-level introductory courses (such as Introduction to International Organizations or International Human Rights) and upper-level elective courses (such as International Law), with the schedule to be determined collaboratively in consideration of the candidate’s expertise and Division needs.
Qualifications: Compensation is competitive with that of comparable positions and includes health insurance and retirement benefits.
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion in their pedagogy. Candidates must have demonstrated competence in teaching and must have earned a Master’s degree, J.D., or foreign equivalent in a related field.
