As stated in the One Asia Foundation’s, now Eurasia Foundation, principles: A global community that goes beyond nations, beyond religious believes and beyond political and cultural differences is possible. Our project has been created following this motivation and the idea of encouraging sustainability and ethics in intercultural communications. A website to promote Burgos among potential visitors, but also to show the city potential to the Asian community already living here have been developed.
The project addresses:
- Asian tourists (as well as tourists from other parts of the world) that are aware of sustainability issues and want to learn about the Spanish and Burgos’ culture in depth.
- The Asian community living in Burgos. It includes Asian exchange students or families that have established here. As the website covers events, places and festivities that maybe are of interest for someone who lives here. Some activities that do not happen in the city centre, or that occur in different places inside the province are included to help Asian citizens come closer to traditions that maybe they were unaware of, and to take an active part in those events. Promoting their participation and enjoyment on Burgos’ life.
- Potential Asian investors. A section inside the website is focused on the industrial part of Burgos. Presenting the different companies that the city host so Asian investors can see the potential of these companies. It also encourages the development of professional networks, as maybe Asian professionals that would like to come to Burgos, find a company that suit their career profile.

The different sections considered are the following:
- Gastronomy: in which different routes in the city and province, involving different traditional products are explained. Developed by Paloma Leiro.
- Wine Route: Explaining the importance of wine for Burgos province and la Ribera del Duero certificate of origin. Developed by Agustina González
- Culture: Giving some insights and practical information on the monuments and museums in the city and presenting the Way of Saint James’ route through the province. Developed by Cristina Martínez.
- Leisure: Presenting the city main festivities and events, showing the parks and green areas in the city and introducing Asian community to the music festivals that take place in the province as well as to Burgos’ local music bands. Developed by Julieta Díez
- Oriburgos: This project, developed by Javier Asperilla, unites the origamis, traditionally from Asia, with Burgos’ culture. It involves citizens’ participation. Different origamis are to be installed in various parts of the city centre accompanied by a QR code. In this way if someone sees the origami figure and scan the code, they will be taken to our website. The project also encourages the collaboration between locals and the Asian community, and can become a game to play, as a gymkhana, to find all the existing origamis.
- Investment: The profile of different companies installed in Burgos industrial area are presented. The companies have been chosen because they may have an special interest for the Asian community or for a sustainable development. Developed by Eva Landía, Roger Guzmán Redondo and Cristina González.
The website has been created by Paula Antón using wix.com, trying to make it aesthetic as well as practical to help the potential users.
Each participant contribution can be found in the files uploaded with this document.
