Burgos, a travel guide for Asian tourists
This project consists of a blog with images, audiovisual content and text containing information of the city of Burgos, Spain, for the Asian tourist. The blog shows a wide range of activities to do in Burgos, together with a brief history of the city accompanied by related iconic monuments and locations, some background information about the Camino de Santiago trail, and, last but not least, a very helpful section specifically created for Asian tourists to be prepared for the culture shocks that might arise while visiting Burgos, and a straightforward list of Spanish words and phrases to survive in Spain.
Justification of the project
The purpose of this project is to create a dialogue between Asian tourists and the city of Burgos, making it easier for the tourists from an Asian background to visit Burgos. Asian tourists are provided with all the information about Burgos that they might need including places of interest, interesting facts about the history of the city and the Camino de Santiago trail, cultural differences between Asian communities and the Spanish community, and activities to do in Burgos. This platform allows the Asian tourist not only to access whichever information about Burgos they need without having to search in the web for each of them separately, but also provides an innovative section about Burgos’ language and culture. The blog makes tourism more accessible not just for any tourist, but for the Asian tourist specifically.
