The end-purpose of the doctorate teaching program is to provide the student with an advanced training in research techniques. The program will incorporate courses, seminars, and other research-oriented training activities, and it will include the preparation and the presentation of the corresponding doctoral thesis consisting of an original piece of research work.
Successfully passing this teaching program will lead to the award of a Doctoral qualification from the University of Burgos.
The Doctoral School, established by agreement of the Board of Governance of the University of Burgos, on 30 October 2012, is organized as a Center in charge of academic planning and centralized administrative management of Third cycle studies, seeking to assure their highest quality and the promotion of excellence in research.
This new space, open to reflection, seeks to be permanently linked to present-day socio-economic reality, with the objective of involving the doctorands in the knowledge culture. It aims to deepen their advanced training, in a transversal manner, both in a theoretical and in a practical dimension, maintained throughout the whole learning process leading up to the defense of the Doctoral Thesis and the award of the qualification of Doctor of the University of Burgos. To do so, the Doctorate School will promote the completion of those complementary activities, which are both appropriate and necessary, and are aimed at enhancing the investigative work of the students.
