15th Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Accounting (IPA) Conference. University of Burgos, 14-16 July 2027.

The ERGO Research Group is delighted to announce that the University of Burgos will be hosting the 15th Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Accounting (IPA) Conference in 2027.

The conference is an established forum for research into the social, political, and organizational aspects of accounting. It brings together accounting researchers with broad social science interests from a range of different disciplinary perspectives such as anthropology, ecology, history, philosophy, political economy, or sociology.

In line with past conferences, IPA 2027 aims to provide accounting scholars with a distinctive forum for further developing interdisciplinary debate on accounting research about its multidimensional impact on society, emphasizing methodological plurality, emerging paths, and innovative research avenues.

We invite researchers from all areas of the social sciences and humanities to submit papers. The conference format is designed to provide presenters with a constructive forum to discuss their research. All papers will undergo a double-blind review process. Discussants will present accepted papers, the author(s) will respond, and an open discussion will ensue. Therefore, the organizing committee will require presenters of accepted papers to be willing to act as discussants and submitting authors to act as reviewers.

The conference is preceded by the Emerging Scholars Colloquium (ESC), 12-13 July 2027. The ESC provides a unique space for early career researchers to make their research projects visible and receive feedback from prestigious faculty and outstanding students. We encourage PhD students conducting their research with an interdisciplinary approach to submit their projects and participate in the event.
