Description

The EU SIDE project aims to foster social innovation in the European Union, particularly in peripheral regions, to address challenges in inclusion, integration, health and wellbeing, sustainability, and digitalization. To achieve this, it promotes the development of democratic and innovative competencies from primary education to vocational training.

Its main objective is to establish a Teachers’ Academy for Democratic Education and Social Innovation, designed to empower and train educators through continuous, multidisciplinary, and international learning.

The project will offer a training program with international mobility and networking opportunities for both pre-service and in-service teachers. It will be implemented through blended training programs (SAPs, BIPs, and MOOCs) and validated in real educational environments using a design-based research (DBR) methodology.

Led by the European University RUN-EU Regional University Network, the initiative includes 9 partners and 30 associated educational centres across 6 European countries, aiming to reach more than 975 teachers.
