In the recent years, different cases have arisen related to fraud and corruption affecting several EU countries, particularly in the form of misuse of different types of funds and public procurements, such as ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) and CF (Cohesion Funds).

EUMODFRAUD overall objective is the development of high-level comparative studies on the analysis of the factors and aspects leading to a loss of transparency of ERDF and CF due to misuse and diversion in public and private entities.

The achievements expected will be the development of a deep knowledge on the mechanisms of diversion of ERDF and CF and their interconnections, and the enhancement in the capacity of relevant EU bodies for the early detection of misuse in EU funds.
