Motivation and context
The workplace of the future will be characterized by flexibility, increased mobility, and collaboration between people, robots and products. Thus the manufacturer of the future must integrate cutting-edge technologies to remain competitive, create value for its investors and secure its position as a partner of choice for its customers and other stakeholders. Some of these technologies can be identified at the intersection of Robotics, Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, and Cyber-Physical Systems.
MICHELIN and the UBU have been collaborating for the development of cooperation projects and considering this new environment of joint research, technology transfer and open innovation in which both institutions are immersed, they wish to establish a strategic collaboration to strengthen mutual relations, join efforts, establish broad standards of common actions, analyze, promote and implement joint activities in the framework of national and international R&D projects and, in particular, be able to maintain a multidisciplinary team composed of highly specialized profiles, which can carry out joint activities in the framework of national and international R&D projects, analyze, promote and execute joint activities by mutual agreement and, in particular, be able to maintain a multidisciplinary team made up of highly specialized profiles, which can carry out joint activities within the framework of national and international R&D projects or those that may be jointly established with funding obtained by both parties.
