Development of structural concrete with improved behavior under dynamic and fatigue loads. The research line aims to develop new concretes able to act more effectively against dynamic and fatigue loads.
-
Development of new structural solutions for wind industry: This research line is focused on the development of new structural solutions for wind foundations and towers make them more competitive and efficient. Research in new structural concepts for wind foundations and towers allows significant savings in the cost of such equipment, which has a direct impact on improving the competitiveness of our customers.
-
In-field technical assistance to structural health monitoring and instrumentation: This research line is focused on providing construction companies high value-added services in fields such as instrumentation and monitoring of structures, or monitoring of operational process like launching process or movement of large structural elements.
-
Analysis of the microstructure of composite materials, with special emphasis on structural concrete. The use of computed-tomography technology lead us to know the microstructure of composite materials, with special emphasis on structural concrete. Some works have been carried out on fiber-reinforced concrete and porous concrete. Our home-made software OPTIFIBER lead us to get the distribution maps of fiber position and orientation, porosity distribution, damage distribution, etc.
-
Developed of testing protocols, adapted to customer needs. This research line is focused on the developed of specific test protocols (non-standard), fully adapted to customer needs. The development of large scale testing of structural elements for multiple sectos is included. It also includes the design and manufacturing of specific tolos for conducting the testings.
- Validation of structural elements by using numerical simulations. Our research group includes highly-qualified tecnicians specialized on the developed of linear and non-linear models.
