Our annual Spanish course aims to help students reach the B2 "Advanced level" by the end of the course, enabling them to continue their undergraduate studies at the University of Burgos. Upon completion, they will receive a Spanish certificate that will allow them to access the UBU.

The Diploma of Spanish level B2 certifies the user's ability to understand the essentials of complex oral and written texts, even if they deal with abstract topics, are presented in various varieties of Spanish or have a technical character, especially if they deal with areas of specialized knowledge to which they have had access; to interact with all types of speakers with a sufficient degree of fluency and naturalness, so that communication does not require effort on the part of any interlocutor; and to produce clear and detailed texts on diverse subjects, including those involving dialectical analysis, debate or defense of a point of view.

Students at the end of the course:

• They will possess the necessary linguistic and non-linguistic resources to participate in communicative exchanges with sufficient fluency, precision, and naturalness so that their interlocutors do not have to make a special effort;
• They will have a level of language awareness that allows them to avoid errors that lead to misunderstandings and will use sufficient resources to resolve ambiguous situations and clarify what the interlocutor meant;
• They will use a broad linguistic repertoire, sufficient to express themselves with arguments and nuances, without significant errors in formulation and with clear pronunciation;
• They will consider the effect of their comments and take into account both the communicative situation and their interlocutors to adapt their register and level of formality to different circumstances;
• They will have sufficient linguistic ability to outline the details of a problem, present claims, and resolve conflicts by using their capacity for argumentation and persuasive language.

COURSE STRUCTURE

• 3-month online preparatory course (optional). MCRELE
• Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) Course A1: 80 hours (basic user - access)
• ELE Course A2: 140 hours (basic user - platform)
• ELE Course B1: 180 hours (independent user - threshold)
• ELE Course B2: 220 hours (independent user - advanced)

At the end of the course, students will have the opportunity to take the official DELE (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language) tests from the Cervantes Institute or the SIELE test.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

In order to register for the course, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be over 18 years of age.
• Have completed upper secondary education (Baccalaureate) or an equivalent qualification that provides access to higher education.

COURSE FEE

Registration for the course will be completed through a single payment of €3,000, corresponding to the total course fee. 

Once the payment has been received, the centre will issue the Letter of Acceptance, which is required for the student to begin, where applicable, the process of applying for a student visa.

ADMISSION TO UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS

The Annual Spanish Program aims to provide students with the necessary linguistic training and, where applicable, the Spanish language certificate required for university admission. Completion of the program does not, in itself, guarantee direct admission to undergraduate degree programs.

To gain admission to an undergraduate degree program, all students must meet the general admission requirements established by the University and current regulations, based on their background and the applicable admission pathway.

Where applicable, students must—among other things—submit duly validated or recognized academic transcripts and documents, as well as provide proof of having passed the EBAU (Baccalaureate Assessment for University Access) or equivalent requirements corresponding to their educational system of origin and admission pathway.

The Spanish language certificate obtained through the Annual Spanish Program attests only to the level of linguistic proficiency required for admission—where such proficiency is a stipulated requirement—and does not replace other academic or administrative requirements necessary for admission to undergraduate degree programs.

PROCESSING THE APPLICATION FOR ACCESS

Applications for access and admission to the University must be submitted directly by the student to the relevant University bodies or departments, in accordance with the procedures, deadlines, and requirements established for the specific call for applications.

The student is responsible for:

• Verifying that they meet the access and admission requirements for the degree program they wish to pursue.
• Obtaining and, where applicable, securing official recognition or equivalence for the required academic certificates and qualifications.
• Providing proof of having passed the EBAU or the applicable entrance exam or admission pathway.
• Submitting the application for access and admission directly within the established deadlines.
• Providing all documentation required by the University.

Participation in the Annual Spanish Program does not reserve a place nor guarantee admission to a Graduate's degree program. Admission is contingent upon meeting all established requirements and, where applicable, on the selection criteria and the availability of places for the requested degree program.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

Registration for the annual Spanish course will be formalized according to the instructions established by the course organizers.

In the event that the student cancels their registration or their visa application is denied by the competent authorities, the amount paid will be refunded, with a €400 deposit being retained to cover administrative and management costs.

Cancellation requests will not be accepted once the official registration deadline for the course has passed.

Once the course has begun, cancellation of registration may not entitle students to a refund, unless the University determines otherwise for duly justified reasons or due to circumstances attributable to the organizers themselves.
