Melbourne Law School is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow with expertise in legal theory, property/ environmental law or a related field for a fixed term position for 12 months to work on an ARC-funded research project on 'Property as habitat: reintegrating place, people, and law'. The Research Fellow will assist with research, writing and with the administration of the project, including establishing a project website. The Research Fellow will work collaboratively with ARC project researchers located at Flinders University and Sydney University.
The research project aims to produce an original account of property law that will re-connect it to place and human relationships and to develop innovate conceptual frameworks around law as habitat. The successful applicant will gain experience of researching legal issues in topic areas such as the evolution of property law and environmental theory; the spatial and material ‘turn’ in law, and innovative property law models.
This is an opportunity for an early stage researcher with expertise in legal theory related to property and environment law, together with strong interdisciplinary skills, to work alongside established legal theory researchers to enhance their knowledge of the research process and to build a publication and impact trajectory.
Candidate: You will have excellent research and writing skills, a background in legal theory or related expertise, a demonstrated capacity to work independently, to meet deadlines and to contribute to the collaborative team effort of the ARC project.
Deadline: February 3, 2020.
