Introducción:
You have a story to tell or a text to write. You don’t think you can write it, but you will – one word at a time.
Objetivos:
- To identify, plan and write an academic text in English.
- To learn or improve writing skills in academic English.
- To become more confident in writing an academic English text.
- To become more confident in reading an academic English text.
- To learn how to revise an academic English text.
Contenidos:
In this workshop, author Licia Canton uses a set of exercises to help you get started. Through a series of writing activities, she will help you transition from an idea to a first draft and eventually, a final version. She will guide you to perfect the text and suggest further steps to follow once a final version has been completed.

A former teacher of English literature and composition.
She is an Honorary Fellow (2018-2021) at the University of Hull, U.K., where she visits as translator-in-residence. In 2019, she was visiting professor and writer-in-residence at the University of Calabria. She holds a Ph.D. from Université de Montréal and a M.A. from McGill University. She lives in Montreal.
Author of The Pink House and Other Stories (2018). She mentors emerging writers through the QWF and the AICW, and she evaluates manuscripts for The Writers’ Union of Canada (TWUC).
