Description

SAFEMEAT_EU is a transfer of innovation project under LLP Leonardo da Vinci Program targeting to provide food safety training for meat sector workers and experts. It is transferred from BETELGEUX’s FoodSafetyCheese – “Continuous training on food safety in milk production centres and cheese industries” project (http://foodsafetycheese.com/)  by Kalite Sistem Group.

SAFEMEAT_EU project is an innovative and integrated online training programme on food safety training for the sector and promote food safety and high quality production in meat and poultry factories by contributing consumer protection with safe and high quality production. And it is going to be piloted across all European countries.

The main aims and objectives of SAFEMEAT_EU are;

  • To transfer the training and project methodology developed in the framework of the “FoodSafetyCheese” Project and experience that has been gained in developing educational materials.
  • To focus on meat sector (including red meat and poultry industries) and develop new online training materials for increasing knowledge gaps of workers.
  • To improve quality and efficiency of VET system in food sector by means of design and validation of training materials based on new technologies and fully adapted to meat sector.
  • To promote efficiency of the training program by workshops.
  • To provide food safety training, for meat industry workers
  • To provide easy access to information technologies especially for groups with low levels of use of these technologies.
  • To promote food safety and high quality production in meat and poultry factories and promote their competitiveness.
  • To use food safety training as a strategy to increase workers knowledge, skills and employability.
  • To encourage implementation of food safety policy of the EU,
  • To contribute consumer protection via safe and high quality production

Target Group: SAFEMEAT_EU e-learning program will have an easy access to whole EU members and will be prepared in English and translated into Turkish, Spanish and German languages. The target group of the Project includes:

  • Meat and poultry industry workers and experts,
  • Meat and poultry products processors,
  • Food engineers,
  • Veterinary surgeons,
  • Quality managers,
  • Food safety responsible and
  • University and graduate students from relevant departments.
