Description

The main objective of MEBATFOL project is the engagement and contribution of MeBattery’s team to implement the activities that are part of the EIC Pathfinder portfolio “Mid to long term and system integrated energy storage (MLDES)” work package to reinforce collaboration with the portfolio projects, specifically:

Portfolio management and internal governance

Elaboration of the portfolio action plan, with the details of the techno-scientific collaborations and synergies with other portfolio projects

Portfolio actions to foster innovation

Implementation of portfolio dissemination and exploitation activities

Techno-economic benchmark and comparative assessment

Reinforcing collaboration and coordination within the MLDES Pathfinder portfolio is not only pertinent but also mandatory, as it is the main goal of portfolio building. By including a broader range of energy storage technologies, addition of MeBattery project to the MLDES Pathfinder portfolio will contribute to achieve some of its main goals, namely to guarantee the diversification of energy storage technologies, optimise European energy storage and enable demand response strategies and capabilities to host higher penetration of intermittent renewable technologies. Redox flow battery technology is currently underrepresented in the MLDES Pathfinder portfolio, with only 2 projects focused on these promising electrochemical energy storage systems to address the Pathfinder challenge goals. Hence incorporation of the MeBattery project will undoubtedly strengthen research, innovation, dissemination and exploitation collaborative efforts in this EU strategic field
