On February 14th, 2018, the University of Burgos acquired the commitment with the European Commission to adopt the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers -Charter and Code-, documents that constitute the frame of reference at the European Union for an optimal management of research talent, defining in 40 principles the rights and obligations of researchers and the entities that hire them.
The adoption of the Charter and Code is regulated by the so-called "Human Resources Strategy for Researchers" -HRS4R- process that every institution must complete to obtain the HR Excellence in Research seal, which includes the realization of a diagnosis of the situation on the degree of compliance with the principles of the Charter and Code and the definition of an Action Plan to correct the detected deviations and implement research human resources management actions in accordance with the quality standards represented by those principles.
In our University, this process has been completed in recent months. An ad-hoc working group, chaired by the Vice-Rector of Research and Knowledge Transfer, José Miguel García, and composed of those responsible for the different services involved in the management of human resources, research and knowledge transfer, as well as a representation of the researcher community, has prepared the Action Plan for the years 2019-2020 that is shown in the following link. This Action Plan has been approved by the Government Council of the University at its meeting on July 20th, 2018.
Obtaining the HR Excellence in Research the 23rd November 2018 seal accredits the University of Burgos as an entity committed to quality in the management of human resources in research.
